John A. Kelly
John Kelly is the founding attorney of The Law Office of John A. Kelly, A Professional Law Corporation. Mr. Kelly focuses on a wide range of civil litigation cases, specifically landlord/tenant issues in the Southern California area. He is licensed to practice in the state of California and admitted before the associated state and federal courts.
In 2013, Mr. Kelly received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In 2018, he obtained his law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. While at Loyola, Mr. Kelly was awarded the highest-grade distinction in Mergers & Acquisitions, Trusts and Wills, and Torts II. Mr. Kelly also was an editorial member of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. While at Loyola, Mr. Kelly won the 2017 James B. Boskey Law Student Essay Contest on Dispute Resolution becoming the first and only winner from Loyola.
Prior to founding his own firm, Mr. Kelly held a selection of positions at different civil litigation firms throughout Southern California. In these positions he helped clients reach positive outcomes both by prosecuting and defending cases. Specifically, Mr. Kelly has helped a range of landlords prosecute eviction actions against derelict tenants, and helped multiple tenants prosecute a range of claims. Mr. Kelly specializes in claims involving the Tenant Protection Act and the multitude of associated local statutes and ordinances, including the Los Angeles Rent Stabilization Ordinance.
Mr. Kelly enjoys reading, skiing, and playing lacrosse in his spare time. He also enjoys spending time with his rescue dog, Lola.
